MAPS 2006 - VIth Congress of the Mediterranean Association of Paediatric Surgeons

Barcelona, October 19 - 21, 2006

Dear Collegue,

I would like to welcome you to the VIth Congress of the Mediterranean Association of Paediatric Surgeons to be held in Barcelona, October 19 - 21, 2006. The meeting aims to provide an update on the state of the art of paediatric surgery, and will be specially directed towards young surgeons.

To open the congress, there will be a satellite course on Vesico-ureteral Reflux which is sure to be of great interest to all.

The main programme is based on 5 scientific sessions, each composed of an initial 10-minute talk by an invited expert in the field (Pectus carinatum, Hirschsprung's disease, Short gut, Conjoined twins and Bladder augmentation) followed by free 10-minute communications that we are awaiting from you.

Of all posters accepted, the 10 best will be selected for a 2-minute presentation and 3-minute discussion.

We are pleased to offer two lectures: Hypospadias and Advances in Paediatric Laparoscopyand, in addition, a round table on Oesophageal Long Gap.

As we wish to place strong emphasis on training, we have designed two teaching courses: Ultrasound for Paediatric Surgeons and Appendicitis.

Social events will be in keeping with the Mediterranean flavour of the city. My personal goal is to create a warm atmosphere of professional expertise and friendship.

I look forward welcoming you in Barcelona.
